Fernanda Tavares is a Brazilian model who was born on September 22, 1980.
Tavares, who was born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, began acting in local shows at the age of nine and won the "Elite Look of the Year" contest at the age of thirteen.
A year later, she was contacted by agents to pursue a modeling career in So Paulo. She had signed up with the Marilyn Modeling Agency in both New York City and Paris in 1998, and was already appearing on the covers of fashion magazines – L'Officiel Paris, Deutsch and U.S. Marie Claire, and Vogue Paris – at the age of 17.
She would later make appearances in ELLE, Cosmopolitan, Allure, and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, among other publications.
