Zoe Birkett was born on June 16th, 1985 in Consett, England. She is a British singer that started her road in the music industry early in her life. She auditioned to be part of S Club 7, but was eliminated in the final 12. In 2001 she went on to compete in the Pop Idol competition.
During her run on Pop Idol 2001, Zoe placed the highest from all the female contestants. She ended the show in 4th place. On the show she covered songs such as Whitney Huston’s “One Moment in Time,” Aretha Franklin’s “I Say A Little Prayer,” and ABBA’s “Thank You for the Music.” After the show she went on tour with the Pop Idol Winners and opened for them.
In 2003, Zoe signed a record deal with 19 Recordings. She released her first single “Treat Me Like A Lady” with fellow Pop Idol contestant Sarah Whatmore co-writing the song. The single reached number 12 on the UK Singles Charts. Zoe has gone on to perform in theatre and made an appearance on the show Big Brother. In 2017 she joined the band Atomic Kitten.
