Les Claypool Bio
Leslie Edward Claypool, better known as Les Claypool, is an American singer, songwriter, and musician who performs funk, rock, and alternative metal as the frontman of the band Primus. He was born in Richmond, California, United States, on September 29, 1963. Les began his music career in 1979, but he became famous in the mid-1980s when he formed the group Primus with Larry "Ler" LaLonde, Tim "Herb" Alexander, Todd Huth, and Peter Libby. As a member of Primus, he has released the hit singles Jerry Was A Race Car Driver, John the Fisherman, My Name Is Mud, Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver, Too Many Puppies, and Tommy The Cat, and he received three Grammy nominations for Best Hard Rock Performance and Best Surround Sound Album.
