Marcus Osmond Smart, born on March 6, 1994, in Lancaster, Texas, United States is a professional basketball player for the Boston Celtics. Before getting selected in the 2014 National Basketball Association (NBA) draft, Smart demonstrated astounding skills on the court and earned McDonald's All-American and ESPNHS first team All-American. He played for the Oklahoma State Cowboys before his NBA career took off with Boston Celtics for which he has been playing for 6 years now. During his career, he secured multiple accolades including Third-team All-American – NABC (2014), NBA All-Rookie Second Team (2015), NBA All-Defensive First Team (2019) and many more. Smart is widely recognized for his athletic energy and aggressive offense and defense techniques. He is also called Marcus “Floppy” Smart, a moniker he earned for his infamous and rather exaggerated flops during the games.
