James Cromwell Bio
James Oliver Cromwell is an award-winning American actor, producer, and director best known for his work in film and television. He was born in Los Angeles, California, United States, on January 27, 1940.
James began his acting career in 1974 when he appeared in the TV series The Rockford Files, and soon after he had recurring roles in the TV series All in the Family, Hot l Baltimore, and Mary Hartman. He has since had an extensive career that has seen his act in nearly 200 film and TV productions. He is best known for starring in the crime-drama film The Green Mile alongside Tom Hanks, David Morse, Sam Rockwell, and Patricia Clarkson. His filmography also includes the blockbusters Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Spider-Man 3, Big Hero 6, The Longest Yard, I, Robot, Deep Impact, The General's Daughter, and Star Trek: First Contact. James has had recurring roles in the TV series Succession, Counterpart, The Young Pope, Murder in the First, Halt and Catch Fire, Betrayal, American Horror Story, and 24.
James won three OFTA Television Awards for Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series, a Canadian Screen Award for Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, and a Seattle International Film Festival Award for Best Actor.
