Aaron Tippin Bio
Aaron Tippin is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer born in Pensacola, Florida on July 3, 1958. In his teens he made money from performing as a singer in local bars around South Carolina. In 1986 he moved to Nashville and got a job as a writer at the music publishing firm Acuff-Rose Music and writing songs for artists like David Ball, Charley Pride, Mark Collie, and The Kingsmen. In 1986 he competed on the show You Can Be a Star and got a song publishing contract in 1987. He performed his first show at a nightclub in Nashville in 1990 and was signed with RCA Records and in 1991 released his debut single “You’ve Got to Stand for Something” that reached number 6 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. He released his debut album that same year titled the same thing, You’ve Got to Stand for Something that was certified gold in the United States. Over the course of his career he released 12 studio albums, five compilation albums, and over 35 singles more than 30 of them making it on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.
