Teddy Riner Bio

Teddy Riner, born as Teddy Pierre-Marie Riner, on April 7, 1989, in Les Abymes, Guadeloupe, France, is a French judoka. He is best known for having won ten World Championships gold medals, being the first and only judoka to do so, while also having won two Olympic gold medals, among other awards. Teddy Riner is a member of Paris Saint-Germain since August 2017, after leaving the Levallois Sporting Club. In 2006, he won the World and European junior titles. The next year, he won a gold medal at the European Championships that took place in Belgrade, Serbia. The same year, he was ranked the youngest senior world champion ever after winning against Japan’s Olympic gold medalist, Kosei Inoue. Teddy Riner has only been defeated eight times over the course of his career.
