Anna Maxwell Martin, born Anna Charlotte Martin, is an award-winning English actress best known for her work in film and television. She was born in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, on May 27, 1977.
Anna began her acting career in 1978 when she appeared in an episode of the TV series Everyday Maths, and she has since had recurring roles in the TV series Code 404, Hollington Drive, Line of Duty, Motherland, The Frankenstein Chronicles, The Bletchley Circle, and Bleak House. Anna’s filmography includes Philomena, The Personal History of David Copperfield, Enduring Love, and Alan Partridge, but she is best known for starring in the drama-romance film Becoming Jane alongside Anne Hathaway, James McAvoy, Julie Walters, and James Cromwell.
Anna has won two BAFTA Awards for Best Actress a LesGaiCineMad Award for Best Actress, and an OFTA Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture or Miniseries.
