Ed O’Neill is an American actor and comedian born in Youngstown, Ohio on April 12, 1946. He is best known for his roles on the shows Married…with Children and Modern Family. In 1979 he had a role in the Broadway play Knockout opposite Danny Aiello and was noticed by the director William Friedkin. He landed his debut role in film in 1980 in the movie Cruising and continued landing roles in the films The Dogs of War, Blue Chips, Little Giants, Wayne’s World, Spartan, The Spanish Prisoner, Redbelt, Right to Die, A Winner Never Quits, In the Game, Inseparable and more. In 1984 he landed his debut role on a television show in the series Miami Vice and has since had roles in the shows Moonlighting, Hunter, The Equalizer, The 10th Kingdom, 8 Simple Rules, The West Wing, John from Cincinnati, Modern Family, The Unit, Weird City and others. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won four Screen Actors Guild Awards and a TV Land Award.
