Melissa O’Neil Bio
Melissa Crystal O'Neil (born July 12, 1988) is a Canadian singer and actress. O'Neil was the first Canadian female to win the third season of Canadian Idol in 2005.
She is best recognized for her appearances as Two/Rebecca/Portia Lin on Syfy's science fiction series Dark Matter and Officer Lucy Chen on ABC's police procedural drama series The Rookie.
O'Neil was born in the Canadian city of Calgary. Her mother is of Hong Kong Chinese ethnicity, and her father is of Irish ancestry.
She went to Lester B. Pearson High School in Calgary, where she participated in musicals, played rugby, and was a member of the basketball team.
