SoMo Bio
Hailing from Denison, Texas, is pop singer Joseph Somers-Morales, known more widely by his stage name SoMo. SoMo was born on September 11, 1987, and began performing for public audiences in an Austin club when he was just six years old. Though he was not heavily involved in music growing up, it wasn’t until he got a piano from his mother that he began to take his musical future into his own hands. SoMo learned how to play “Crawl” by Chris Brown in 2009, and when he uploaded his rendition to YouTube, the video got a wild amount of views. Since then, the young singer and performer started a campaign on the website known as “SoMo Sunday”, in which he released one cover each Sunday on his YouTube page.
In 2012, SoMo released a mixtape entitled My Life, which featured many of his original songs. Thanks to the wide recognition that the mixtape garnered, SoMo was signed to the label Universal Republic, through which he released his debut album SoMo in 2014.
