Steven Spielberg was born on December 18, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio. His career spans decades, beginning in the 1970s with his first job as a director on the pilot episode of Night Gallery. In 1977, he directed and wrote the film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which earned 6 Academy Award nominations and won 2 Oscars in Cinematography and a Special Achievement Award for Sound Effects Editing.
He directed the film Schindler’s List (1993), which earned him his first Academy Award for Best Director and an Academy Award for Best Picture. In 2015, he directed the film Bridge of Spies, which earned 6 Academy Award nominations. He also directed and produced films like Saving Private Ryan (1998), Lincoln (2012), Jurassic Park (1993), and Catch Me If You Can (2002).
