Eric Benét Bio
Singer Eric Benét was born Eric Jordan on October 15, 1966, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, although he was raised in Milwaukee. In his early 20s, he sang as part of the group Gerard, but later joined some members of his family to form the band Benét, which was his mother’s maiden name. In 1994, Eric Benét began to pursue his solo career, and after signing a contract with Warner Bros. Records, he released his debut album True to Myself, which he followed in 1999 with his second album A Day in the Life. The single from the second album, “Spend My Life With You”, peaked at #1 on the Billboard R&B Charts and was certified Gold shortly after. Eric Benet would later release the albums Hurricane in 2005, Love & Life in 2008, Lost in Time in 2010, and The One in 2012. He has been nominated for a total of four Grammy Awards, including for Best R&B Album for Love & Life.
