Austin Barnes is a professional baseball player who currently plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers that competes in Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on 28th December 1989 in Riverside, California, United States, Barnes attended Riverside Polytechnic High School, where he played baseball with Jake Marisnick. He later played college baseball for Arizona State University. However, he did not play much during his first year at the college. Things changed during his sophomore year. He was a starter in all the games the team played.
Barnes started his professional career with Miami Marlins after being selected in the 9th overall of the 2011 MLB Draft. His professional debut came in the same season with Jamestown Hammers, which competes in New York-Penn League. He went on to play for Jacksonville Suns, Jupiter Hammerheads, and Greensboro Grasshoppers from 2012 to 2014. In December 2014, he was traded to Los Angeles Dodgers, with Enrique Hernandez, Andrew Heaney, and Chris Hatcher moving the other way.
