Randy Johnson was born on September 10, 1963 in Walnut Creek, California. He gained the nickname The Big Unit. During his career as an American professional baseball player, he received the Cy Young Award five times.
Johnson debuted on the major league under the Montreal Expos on 1988. He joined the Seattle Mariners in the American League in 1990. In 1998, the mariners traded him to the Houston Astros. After becoming a free agent in 1998, he joined the National League team Arizona Diamondbacks. He won the Most Valuable Player honour in the 2001 World Series. He joined the New York Yankees but he was traded back to Arizona in 2007. During the 2008 season, he joined the San Francisco Giants.
In January 2010, Johnson retired and in 2015, he was inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
