Marcelo D2 Bio
Marcelo D2, who was born as Marcelo Maldonado Peixoto, is a Brazilian rapper and MC who was born on November 5, 1967, in Rio de Janeiro. He started his career around 1993 when he created the band Planet Hemp and became its vocalist. Alongside Skunk, guitarist Rafael, bassist Formigão and drummer Bacalhau, the band created its own original sound mixing rap lyrics and vocals with psychedelic guitars. The band released its first album in 1995.
In 1998, he decided to start his own solo career releasing the album Eu Tiro Onda, which gathered hip hop and samba sounds. His following album was released in 2002 and was titled Apresenta Hip Hop Rio, which was followed by his most famous album called À Procura Da Batida Perfeita in 2004. This album earned him a lot of national awards as well as international recognition playing in international festivals and touring around the world. Since then, he has released over 8 albums.
