Born on February 2, 1972, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, Zoë Keating is a phenomenal cellist and composer now based in Vermont, United States. Starting out as a second chair cellist in a band Rasputina, Keating gradually achieved a massive degree of popularity with her DIY approach to release music without a record label and weaving technology in her performances by using live electronic sampling. Her self-produced album One Cello x 16: Natoma ranked #1 on iTunes Classical Charts four times while her second album Into the Trees ranked #7 on the Billboard Classical Chart. Keating’s music has been featured in numerous famous TV shows, movies and video games including Teen Wolf, Have You Heard from Johannesburg, So You Think You Can Dance, Alice Walker: Beauty in Truth and many others. Her success saw her achieve several awards and accolades including Contemporary Classical Album award at the 10th Annual Independent Music Awards (2011) the Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum title (2011) and others.
