Kenny Loggins Bio

Kenny Loggins is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist born on 7th January 1948 in Everett, Washington, United States. He recorded his early songs with the country rock band Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in the 1970s. He went on to record 7 albums as Loggins and Messina (1972 to 1977). Loggins is also regarded as the King of Movie Soundtrack. His debut soundtrack dates back to the 1976 musical romantic drama film “A Star Is Born”.

Loggins’ career as a solo artist saw him release a number of soundtracks which were very successful. In 1985, he was nominated for the Academy Award for the song “Footloose”, which he had co-written and recorded. In his expansive career, he received one Daytime Emmy Award and two Grammy Awards. He was also nominated for the Tony Award, Golden Globe Award, and Academy Award.
