MGMT, also known as Management, is a psychedelic rock band founded by Andrew VanWyngarden and Benjamin Goldwasser at Wesleyan University in 2002. Other members of the group are Hank Sullivant, Matt Asti, James Richardson, and Will Berman. Rock and pop are their musical specialties, and their style is alternative/indie rock, neo-psychedelia, indie pop, and indie electronic. In 2006, MGMT signed with Columbia Records and Red Ink. Some of their song highlights are “Kids”, “Electric Feel”, “Time To Pretend”, “Your Life Is a Lie”, “Little Dark Age”, “Pursuit of Happiness” (feat. Kid Cudi), “When You Die”, and many more. They are known for their collaborations with artists and performers such as Erol Alkan, AIR, Kid Cudi, Yo Gabba Gabba!, Doorly, Jim Jones, Annie Nightingale, etc. MGMT was nominated for 2 Grammy Awards in 2009, for Best New Artist, and Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Groups With Vocals for “Kids”.
