White Lies Bio

White Lies is a British post-punk band formed in 2004 in London by singer Harry McVeigh, bassist and songwriter Charles Cave, and drummer/keyboardist Jack Lawrence-Brown. After releasing two singles produced by Stephen Street for the Young and Lost Club label in 2006, the group gained some notoriety and appeared as guests in the Jools Holland show. The trio’s first full-length album To Lose My Life (2009) hit a number one in the U.K. charts, and the band went on touring Japan, Europe, and the U.S, appearing in festivals like Coachella. The commercial success carried on with their second album Ritual 2011, a number three in the U.K. and 14 on U.S’s Billboard Top Alternative Albums. A self-produced fourth studio album ensued, titled Friends (2016). In 2019 they released another LP produced by Alan Moulder and Ed Buller.
