Austra Bio
Austra is a Canadian indie electronic music project founded and led by singer, songwriter and composer Katie Stelmanis, in 2009. Stelmanis is the only permanent member of the band, whose line-up has included Dorian Wolf from Moog, Maya Postepski and Ryan Wonsiak, among others. Their debut album “Feel It Break” was released in 2011 through Domino Records. The album was a success, earning praises from critics and it was selected for the Polaris Music Prize that same year. Their second album, “Olympia”, was released in 2013, and their third album “Future Politics” was released in 2017. That last album was inspired by the books “Inventing the Future: Postcapitalism” by Nick Srnicek. In 2020, they released the album “Hirudin” through Domino Records.
