Daughter is an English indie-folk trio from North London, England. The band is headed by vocalist Elena Tonra, guitarist Igor Haefeli and French drummer Remi Arguiella. Band members Elena and Igor met at London’s Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and formed Daughter in 2010. They began to perform with Remi Arguiella, releasing their debut EP, ‘His Young Heart’ in 2011. Later that year, Daughter signed to record label Communion who released their second album, ‘The Wild Youth’. In 2012, Daughter moved onto sign with 4AD and released their debut album, ‘If You Leave’ in 2013. Daughter was listed as Radar Band of the Week on NME’s website. The album won the band the award for Independent Album of the Year at the AIM Music Awards in London in 2013. In 2014, the band toured in Australasia and the Far East and supported rock band The National on several shows for their U.S. tour. In 2016, the band’s second album, ‘Not to Disappear’ with their popular track, ‘Doing the Right Thing’. Daughter’s third album, ‘Music Before the Storm’ came out in 2017 and became the soundtrack of video game ‘Life Is Strange: Before the Storm’. Daughter’s indie songs have been featured on many TV shows such as Lovesick, Skins, Arrow, Grey’s anatomy and After Life.
