Hank Williams Jr. Bio
The son of country music star Hank Williams, Hank Williams, Jr., was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on May 26, 1949. His music career began when his mother encouraged him to become a Hank Williams performer after his father passed away, yet he eventually abandoned that path in the early 1960s. He would release the album Hank Williams, Jr. Sings the Songs of Hank Williams in 1964, which he followed that year with Your Cheatin’ Heart through MGM Records. The album was later certified Gold in the United States. In his career, Hank Williams, Jr. released fifty studio albums and has sold more than 36 million records worldwide. He was awarded the opportunity to perform at the 2006 Super Bowl and has also won a handful of awards, including a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance in 1987 for “Ain’t Misbehavin’ “, Video of the Year at the 1989 Academy of Country Music awards for “There’s a Tear in My Beer”, and the Johnny Cash Visionary Award at the 2006 CMT Music Awards.
