Born on September 19, 1986, singer and songwriter Chase Rise hails from Asheville, North Carolina, and has made a name for himself as a smooth, heartfelt country singer. Originally from Florida, Rice and his family moved to North Carolina when he was very young, where he was raised on a farm. Thanks to the connections he had through a friend, Chase Rice was selected as a contestant on the 2010 season of the show Survivor: Nicaragua, where he placed as the runner up. Though he states that it did not promote him as a singer, he was able to play one of his songs on the reunion show.
Chase Rice had been playing guitar long before his stint on the reality show, and in March 2011, he released his EP entitled Country as Me, which featured the single “Buzz Back” that he played on the Survivor reunion show. One year later, Rice released his album Dirt Road Communion, which shot to #48 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and was an extremely popular download on iTunes. He later had the opportunity to co-write the smash hit “Cruise” for Florida Georgia Line, which was a #1 country song in the United States. In 2013, Rice released his second EP Read Set Roll, the title song of which was certified Gold and distributed through Columbia Records.
