Pistol Annies Bio
The fiery, all-female country trio Pistol Annies is the brainchild of renowned country singer Miranda Lambert, along with Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe, who have both made a name for themselves on the Nashville music scene. Their debut album Hell on Heels rose to #5 on the Billboard 200 chart and has sold nearly 500,000 copies in the United States. Monroe had known Lambert for some time and had been writing songs with her when she suggested that Lambert take a look at Presley’s songs. Lambert was so impressed by what Presley emailed her that they decided to formulate their band without pitching it to their label or producers.
Their passion for music and their fiery spirits are what have kept them in the spotlight, and each woman brings a little piece of home to the music: Lambert, from Texas, Monroe, from Tennessee, and Presley, from Kentucky. The Pistol Annies released their sophomore album Annie Up in 2013, and later that year, they were nominated for two Country Music Association Awards.
