Country music artist Holly Williams was born on March 12, 1981, in Cullman, Alabama, and later moved to Nashville, Tennessee, with her family. Her grandfather, Hank Williams, Sr., was one of the most influential country music singers in history, and she was raised in a musically inclined family, providing the roots for her later career. In 2003, she signed with Universal South Records, through which she released her 2004 debut album The Ones We Never Knew. The album thus prompted a European tour, along with performances in the United States. After a pause from music due to a near-fatal car crash, she returned to her guitar, signed a contract with Mercury Records, and released her second album Here with Me. The 2009 album received much acclaim in the country music arena. She followed the sophomore effort with her third studio album The Highway, released in 2013, and features collaborations with Dierks Bentley, Gwyneth Paltrow, and a handful of others.
