Bob Dylan Bio

Bob Dylan, also known as Robert Allen Zimmerman, is an American singer and Nobel laureate songwriter. He was born in 1941 in Minnesota, and after attending college he moved to New York in 1961, he got his first big break with the widely-covered “The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan”. After releasing a few more albums in this folk vein, Dylan turned to rock with songwriting collaborations with The Byrds, a phase including two widely celebrated albums: 1965's “Highway 61 Revisited” (1965) and “Blonde on Blonde” (1966). While in the 70s and 80s the artist struggled to maintain stable commercial success, he nonetheless kept a busy touring schedule, sharing the stage with Joni Mitchell, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, and Grateful Dead. In the 1990s he won four Grammy Awards for Best Traditional Folk Album (1993) and Best Contemporary Folk Album, Best Male Rock Vocal and Album of the Year (1998). In the 2000s he accomplished a string of hit albums and started more ambitious projects like an album series of American pre-rock and roll standards and a 15-volume “bootleg” collection. In 2020 he released three hit singles via YouTube.
