Amrita Rao is an Indian actress, model, and digital content creator best known for her work in film and television. She was born in Mumbai, India, on June 7, 1981. Amrita began her acting career in 2001 when she appeared in the films Woh Pyaar Mera, Ab Ke Baras, and The Legend of Bhagat Singh. She has since had a successful career as a film actress with significant roles in the films Main Hoon Na, Ishq, Athidi, Ab Ke Baras, and Thackeray, but she is best known for starring in the drama-musical film Vivah alongside Shahid Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Amrita Bakshi, and Samir Soni. Amrita won a Popular Award at the Awards of the International Indian Film Academy for Best Debut Actress and a Stardust Award for Best Actress.
