Jesse Cook Bio
Canadian guitarist and composer Jesse Cook combines jazz and flamenco with global music. Cook began playing the guitar at the age of eight. He was born on November 28, 1964, in Paris, France. After receiving a scholarship to attend the Royal Academy of Music in London, England, he left after two years to perform at a jazz bar in Paris. He relocated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in 1995. He was signed to the company in 1994, and a year later he created his first album, Tempest. The 1996 release Gravity reached the Top Ten in the new age charts. Two years after Vertigo's debut, Free Fall debuted in the middle of 2000. Nomad was released in 2003, while Montréal: Live followed in 2004. With 2012's The Blue Guitar Sessions, Cook gradually changed things up a little, incorporating ballads and vocals on a few tracks (sung by vocalist Emma-Lee) for a more broad and jazzy midstream pop vibe.
