Julia Jacklin is an Australian singer and songwriter born in Sydney, Australia on August 30, 1990. Jacklin started taking classical singing lessons at ten years old. While in high school she joined a band that did Evanescence and Avril Lavigne covers. After graduating from college she continued performing locally and in 2012 stated the band Salta with Liz Hughes. Jacklin started to pursue a solo career and in 2016 released her debut studio album titled Don’t Let The Kids Win. The album charted at number 42 on the Australian Albums chart. In 2019 she released her second studio album titled Crushing. Her second album charted at number 8 in Australia, 22 in New Zealand, and 67 in the UK. In 2017 she was nominated for the ARIA Charts Female Artist of the Year Award, the J Award for Album of the Year, and the APR Music Award for Song of the Year.
