Jean-Claude Van Damme is a Belgian actor and martial artist born in Sint-Agatha-Berchem, Brussels on October 18, 1960. He is best known for his roles in martial arts action films like Bloodsport, Cyborg, Double Impact, and Timecop. He retired from martial arts in 1982 and decided to pursue a career in acting. Initially he moved to Hong Kong to be in film, but ended up in Los Angeles. Chuck Norris got him a job as a bouncer at a club and a small role in the film Missing in Action. He continued to look for better roles and was able to land some and build his career as an actor. He has since been in films like Predator, Kickboxer, Universal Soldier. Timecop, Street Fighter, Inferno, Narco, In Hell, Nowhere to Run, Double Impact, Death Warrant, The Order, Dragon Eyes, The Expendables 2, and many more. His debut in television was in 1996 in the show Friends, he also landed roles in other television series like, Las Vegas, Robot Chicken, Jean Claude Van Damme: Behind Closed Doors, Les Anges Gardens, and Jean-Claude Van Johnson.
