Jungle is an English soul collective formed in 2013 and based in London. The group is led by frontmen Josh Lloyd Watson and Tom McFarland, the founders of Jungle. Watson and McFarland started as a duo which later evolved into a 7 piece band transforming their sound to a 1970’s psychedelic funk. The year the band was conceived was the same year they released their first single, ‘The Heat’, through Chess Club Records. By the end of the year, Jungle was nominated for BBC’s Sound of 2014. The up and coming back had the opportunity to play at the Glastonbury Festival in 2014. Shortly after, the collective released their self-titled debut album, ‘Jungle’ under XL Recordings. Their biggest hit, ‘Busy Earnin’, was a part of the debut album, hitting number 19 on the U.K. Indie Chart, number 67 on the Triple J Hottest 100 Countdown in Australia and currently has 74 million plays on Spotify. After the release of their successful debut, Jungle went on to perform at many live events; Reading and Leeds Festival, Le Grand Journal and iTunes Festival alongside Pharrell Williams, all in 2014. The group released their second album, ‘For Ever’ in 2018 which garnered just as much success as their first debut. The album contains their top hits, ‘Happy Man’, ‘Casio’, ‘Cherry’ and ‘Heavy, California’, all with around 20 million plays on Spotify.
