Romy Anna Madley Croft (who’s also known as Romy xx or just Romy) is a British singer-songwriter and guitarist who was born on August 18th 1989 in London, England, United Kingdom. She was born and raised in England.
Romy is famously known for her work with the British Indie band The xx which she formed with Oliver Sim, Jamie Smith and Baria Qureshi. She helped the band release their debut full length xx in 2009 which was awarded the prestigious Mercury Prize the next year, 2010. The sophomore Coexist appeared in 2012 topping charts in countries like Belgium, New Zealand and Switzerland. Some of Romy’s solo singles include Lifetime (2020), Lights Out (2022 feat. Fred again.. & HAAi). She appeared on Emile Haynie’s 2015 album We Fall.
