Michael Kiwanuka Bio
Michael Kiwanuka is a London-born singer, songwriter, and musician of Uganda heritage. His music is an eclectic mixture of soul, folk, rock, R&B, jazz, funk, and electronica that draws heavily on the influences of Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, and Otis Redding. Michael began writing songs around the age of sixteen, and played in numerous bands during his school years.
Michael’s professional career in music began with the release of two EP’s in 2011 – Tell Me A Tale, and I’m Getting Ready. His debut album, Home Again, was released in 2012, featuring a hit single of the same name. His most recent album, Love & Hate, was released in 2016. Popular songs on YouTube, with over a million views each, include “Black Man In A White World,” “Home Again,” and “Always Waiting.”
