Caroline Elizabeth Polachek, or just Caroline Polachek, is an American songwriter, producer, and singer, born on June 20, 1985, in New York. Before turning full-time to a solo career in 2017, she was part of the pop group Chairlift. The band released a dozen singles, three LPs, and two EPs between 2007 and 2016. Their second album, 2012's Something, topped the Billboard 200.
She expanded into production in 2013, co-writing and co-producing No Angel for Beyoncé, who included the song on her Grammy-nominated self-titled album. Caroline released her first solo album, Drawing the Target Around the Arrow, in 2017 under her initials CEP. For her second album Pang, released in 2019, she used her name. Her songwriting credits for other artists include tracks by Blood Orange, Charli XCX, Solange, Travis Scott, and others.
