David Sanborn Bio
David Sanborn is an alto saxophonist born on 30th July 1945 in Tampa, Florida, United States. He is widely recognized for his solo recordings, which blend jazz with R&B and instrumental pop. His passion for music started at a young age. When he was 14 years old, he performed with popular musicians Little Milton and Albert King. Since the 1960s, he has been playing with popular artists like James Brown, Cat Stevens, Jaco Pastorius, Brecker Brothers, Kenny Loggins, David Bowie, and others.
In 1994, he appeared in the musical event, Daltrey Sings Townshend. He went on tour with many artists, including keyboardist George Duke, Marcus Miller, and Brian Culbertson, and others. He released his first album, titled “Taking Off”, in 1975. The following year, he released “David Sanborn”. His other credits include “Heart to Heart” in 1978, “Straight to the Heart” in 1984, “Inside” in 1999, “Close” in 2005, “Here and Gone” in 2008, and others.
