Laura Linney is an American theater, television and movie actress and singer. She was born Laura Leggett Linney on the 5th of February, 1964, in Manhattan, New York, U.S. She studied acting at Juilliard School alongside fellow actress Jeanne Tripplehorn. She made her stage debut in 1990, and she appeared in many Broadway productions such as “The Crucible”, “Sight Unseen”, and “The Little Foxes”. In 1993 she debuted on television, when she starred in the series “Tales of the City” as Mary Ann Singleton. She debuted on the big screen in the early 1990s, landing minor roles in films such as “Lorenzo’s Oil”, “Searching for Bobby Fischer”, and “Absolute Power”, before starring in many other movies like “You Can Count On Me”, “Kinsey”, and “The Savages”. In 1998 she had her breakthrough when she acted alongside Jim Carrey in “The Truman Show”. In 2017, she starred in the crime series “Ozark” alongside Jason Bateman and she was nominated at the Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance.
