Citizen is a rock and emo-pop band from Northwest Ohio. The band is composed of four members: Mat Kerekes on vocals, Nick Hamm on lead guitar, Eric Hamm on bass and Ryland Oehlers on guitar. The formation of Citizen was in 2009 by Kerekes and were originally named, The Sound of Glory, who had a big Ohio following. Citizen was then signed to Run for Cover Records in 2012, releasing a split ep with labelmate emo-pop band Turnover. The band went to tour nationally after the release of their EP with Turnover and Light Years. Citizen released their first album in 2013 titled ‘Youth’ along with their two most popular singles, ‘How Does it Feel?’ and ‘The Night I Drove Alone’. Shortly after the release of ‘Youth’, the band played went on tour with the Vans Warped Tour along with their own tour for their debut album from Canada to Ohio. In 2015, the band released their second album, ‘Everybody is Going to Heaven’ which landed on the number 2 spot on the Billboard Vinyl Albums chart. Their most recent body of work, ‘As You Please’ was released in 2017 along with their popular single off the album, ‘Jet’ with over 7 million plays on Spotify.
