Leon Robinson is an American actor and singer born in New York City, New York on March 8, 1962. He is best known for his roles in the films The Five Heartbeats, The Temptations, Cool Runnings, and Above the Rim. His debut in acting was in 1983 in the movie All the Right Moves and has since been in the films and television shows The Flamingo Kid, Colors, Cool Runnings, Above the Rim, Oz, Bats, Friends & Lovers, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, The Heart Specialist, Ex-Free, and many more. He has also acted in the theater productions of Friends and Lovers, 3 Ways to Get A Husband and Why Do Good Girls Like Bad Boys. Leon is the lead vocalist in the band Leon and the Peoples. Together they have released the albums The Road Less Traveled, that received a Joe Higgs Reggae Award for Best International Artist, and their second album Love is a Beautiful Thing.
