Ryan Anderson was born on May 6, 1988 in Sacramento, CA. Anderson attended Oak Ridge High School and was ranked as was ranked as the 22nd best power forward in 2006. He was then recruited by the University of California to play for the California Golden Bears and played two seasons with the team. In 2008, he declared for the NBA draft and was selected by the New Jersey Nets as the 21st overall pick.
Anderson was traded to the Orlando Magic in 2009. While with Orlando, he won the NBA Most Improved Player Award. In 2012, he was picked up by the New Orleans Hornets and scored a career-high of 36 points in a 2013 game versus the Chicago Bulls. After a successful career with the New Orleans Hornets, Anderson signed with the Houston Rockets in July 2016.
