Shanthnu Bhagyaraj (born August 24, 1986, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India) is a Tamil film actor most renowned as the son of actor and director K. Bhagyaraj.
He made his debut as a lead actor in the film Sakkarakatti in 2008. Prior to this, Shanthnu had acted as a child actor in his father's film Vettiya Madichu Kattu. The movie ‘Vettiya Madichu Kattu’ was released in 1998. Shanthnu also worked as an assistant director on a project with his sister, Saranya Bhagyaraj- her debut film, Parijatham.
Shanthnu made his Malayalam debut in the movie, Angel John, where he played a youth who was fed-up of life and attempting to commit suicide. The film flopped but Shanthnu gained some popularity nonetheless. His next film, Siddu +2, was directed by his father. In 2011, Shanthnu featured in another film, Kanden in which he played an ordinary boy.
In 2008, Shanthnu received the FilmFare Award for the Best South Male Debut in ‘Sakkarakatti’. He also won the Vijay Award for Best Debut Actor in ‘Sakkarakatti’. On August 21, 2015, Shanthanu married TV anchor Keerthi. Keerthi is the daughter of famous choreographer Jayanthi Vijayakumar.
