Beth Orton Bio

Beth Orton is a singer and songwriter born on 14th December 1970 in East Dereham, Norfolk, England. She is widely recognized for her unique musical sound, which combines electronica with elements of folk. She is also known for working with other musicians, including Andrew Weatherall, William Orbit band, The Chemical Brothers band, and Red Snapper in the ‘90s. She released her first studio album, titled “Superpinkymandy” in 1993, followed by the second album “Trailer Park” in 1996.

In 1999, she released her third studio album, titled “Central Reservation”. Her fourth album, “Daybreak” was released in 2002, followed by the fifth album “Comfort of Strangers” in 2006. In 2012, she released a new album titled “Sugaring”. Her latest album “Kidsticks” was released in 2016. Before becoming a musician, Orton was an actress and even enrolled at the Anna Scher Theater School. She went on to appear in the films “Southlander”, “Light Years” and “Leonard Cohen: I’m Your Man”.
