Reik is a Mexican band hailing from Mexicali, Baja, California. The group consists of members Jesus Alberto Navarro Rosas, Julio Ramirez Eguia, and Gilberto Marin Espinoza. The group formed in 2003 and specialises in the genres of Latin pop, and pop rock. In 2003 the Reik began recording demos and releasing them in the underground club scene. The demo versions of the songs “Levemente” and “Ahora Sin Ti” brought the group widespread recognition across Mexico.
In May 2005 Reik released their self-titled debut album. The single “Yo Quisiera” received heavy airplay time on Mexican pop radio stations and peaked at number 1 on the Mexican Pop charts. Their second and third singles, “Que Vida La Mia” and “Noviembre Sin Ti” also charted and peaked at number 1. The album was certified gold in Mexico in the same year. In 2017 the album was certified platinum. In 2006 Reik released their second album entitled Secuencia. The album quickly went gold and charted in at number 12 on the US Latin Pop charts.
Reik released their third studio album in 2008 called Un Dia Mas. The album was certified platinum in 2017 and peaked at number 3 on the 2008 US Latin Pop Charts. The group released their next two albums in 2011 and 2016 respectively. Both Peligro and Des/Amor went both gold and platinum. In 2009 the group won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Album by Duo or Group with Vocals for Un Dia Mas.
