Allyson Felix Bio

Allyson Felix is an American sprinter born November 18, 1985, in California, USA. In her early life, she played basketball because she was athletically gifted for it. In high school, as a freshman, she joined the track team and started with the results from the beginning as she finished seventh in the 200-meter dash at the competition in California. Allyson even had the nickname Chicken Legs because she was tall and thin. In 2004, at just 18 years old, Felix competed in her first Olympics where she finished second and won a silver medal in the 200-meter race. In 2005 she became the youngest champion to compete at the World Championships. In the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, she won a silver medal again in the 200-meter dash after she ran her personal best of 21.93 seconds. She also won a gold medal that year with the women's 4-by-400-meter relay team. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, Felix won her first individual gold medal after she finished the 200-meter dash with 21.88 seconds. After the 2016 Olympics, she had the most medals in U.S. track and field history.
