Jason Alexander, born Jay Scott Greenspan, was born on September 23, 1959 in Newark, New Jersey. His career started on the New York Stage. He appeared in Merrily We Roll Along (1981), The Rink (1984), and Broadway Bound (1986). He also earned a Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical in 1989.
He is best well known as George Costanza in the award-winning television sitcom Seinfeld (1989-1998). He was nominated for 6 Primetime Emmy Awards and 4 Golden Globe Awards. He also won A Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series. He has also appeared in Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dinosaurs, and Bob Patterson. In 2004 he had a lead role in a CBS sitcom Listen Up!, but it did not make it to a second season. He has also appeared in films like Pretty Woman (1990), Shallow Hal (2001), and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996).
