Kristy Lee Akers, born on March 24, 1988 in Kurri Kurri, New South Wales, is an Australian singer and songwriter. She started performing in public at the age of three, and by the time she was 16, she was already recording an EP. In 2007, she released her first album, Little Things, which was nominated for two Golden Guitars. Her second album, Better Days, was released in 2009, and it was nominated for an AIR Award for Best Country Album. 2011 marked the release of her next album Naked, which was nominated for 3 Golden Guitars. Burn Baby Burn was released in 2016 and her latest effort, Under My Skin, was released in 2018. Akers was the only musician to receive the Telstra Road to Discovery (2006), Toyota Star Maker (2007) AND a Golden Guitar (2008) in a short span of two years.
