Parachute is a pop trio that dropped into the music scene from Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2006, with the line-up of Will Anderson (vocals, guitar, piano), Johnny Stubblefield (drums), and Kit French (keyboards, vocals, saxophone). They were originally in a high school band Sparky’s Flaw, where they honed a mix of pop/rock, funk, and contemporary blue-eyed soul.
They’ve released four albums to date in dual CD and digital releases, being on of the new generation of bands to embrace digital distribution. Their first single “She Is Love” (2009) was certified gold. They’ve continued to chart sporadically over the last decade. Parachute tours regularly, having so far shared a stage with Kelly Clarkson, SafetySuit, Joe Brooks, Hot Chelle Rae, Michelle Branch, Goo Goo Dolls, The Plain White T’s, and many more. On their own headline tour in 2017, “American Idol” winner Kris Allen opened for them.
