Being a nephew of the famous David Saad, a judoka participant of the 1976 Summer Olympics, Ariel followed in family footsteps and dedicated himself to the sports world. Ariel Helwani is an accomplished Canadian journalist specializing in mixed martial arts. The first event he had a chance to cover happened in 2006 while engaged with MMA Fighting. After the event, Ariel has shown his talent and passion for the process. Therefore, he remained on the same professional path. While was well-respected in the industry, his talent won him six consecutive MMA Journalist of the Year awards (2010-2015). Helwani is related to the 2016 UFC controversy when he reported that Brock Lesnar would fight at UFC 200. The news was not meant to be released. Therefore, UFC banned him from attending their events. In 2018, Ariel became a part of the ESPN network. Ariel Helwani is also well-known for hosting the podcast called The MMA Hour.
