Royce Da 5’9”, born Ryan Daniel Montgomery, is a rapper from Detroit, Michigan. He began his career through fellow Detroit rapper Eminem, with whom he formed the duo Bad Meets Evil. The duo released a few singles in 1999, including “Scary Movies,” which landed prominently in the movie Scary Movie. However, the two never released a full-length project together, and disbanded in 2003. Royce Da 5’9” made modest success as a solo artist with his sophomore album, Death Is Certain, which was released in 2004 on E1 Music. He is also a member of hip hop supergroup Slaughterhouse, as well as PRhyme, a collaboration with DJ Premier.
