Clark started her career with a self-titled debut album in 1995 which led to her national fame. Her debut album that charted number 13 on Billboard Top Country Albums charts was followed by multiple successful albums that also peaked country charts. Her most famous albums include Just The Sam (1996), How I Feel (1998), Pain to Kill (2003), Life Goes On (2005), The Long Way Home (2009), and Raising the Bar (2018).
